ABOUT SAVE A LAMB

Every time someone sponsors a lamb, we immediately go to local farmers in the area and buy lambs that were destined for the slaughterhouse.

WHAT WE DO

We provide people with the opportunity to sponsor a lamb and give it a chance to live out a full, natural life on a farm. When you sponsor a lamb, we will rescue one from slaughter, tag it, and release it onto the farm. You can name the rescued lamb and will receive an email containing a picture and a short video of your sponsored lamb.

WHO WE RESCUE

Female ewes have the chance to grow to adulthood, but little male lambs almost always end up at the slaughterhouse. Therefore, we only rescue male lambs. This is also to ensure the sanctuary farm doesn’t turn into a breeding farm. We rescue lambs that have already been weaned and are about to be sent to slaughter.

Eventually, your little lamb will become an old sheep and reach the point where its teeth are worn down, and it is not able to eat.

While it is amazing that your lamb will be able to get to a ripe old age in nature, we don’t want it to suffer death from starvation.

Sheep that get to that stage will be euthenased and the meat from that sheep will be donated to local childrens homes and feeding schemes.

This will provide 30 underpriviledged kids their desperately needed protein requirements for an entire month.

INDEPENDENT REVIEW

An independent review is performed annually by an external auditor to ensure that your money is, in fact, going towards saving a lamb and allowing it to live a full life, and that there is transparency that one sponsorship saves one sheep.

WHAT IF MY LAMB DIES?

Unfortunately, this is the reality of living a free life on the farm. Lambs can succumb to predators, sickness, and disease. If your lamb passes away, you have the option of canceling your monthly sponsorship or keeping it going.
